The 2009 Foundation golf tournament was a great success! For starters, the tournament was given an official name, “Links for Literacy Classic” and we increased our number of participants by 100% from our 2006 event. The weather was a little “touch and go” at times but held off and everyone had a lot of fun! Again a bagpiper was on hand for the opening ceremony to remember “Big Bernie” and the first shot was smoothed right down the middle by his wife, Cathy Floriani.
Our Foundation’s tradition grew a bit more this year with the addition of our custom-made flags and tee markers.
We look forward to growing the tournament, continued improvement in the tournament experience and a long standing tradition enjoyed by many!
